Fire and Emergency Services Administration Module 1

The fire and emergency services within the United States have noted a progressive change towards professional development over the past three decades. The change has occurred in varying stages, beginning with increased training, followed by increased levels of education, and lastly, by a credentialing process that combined training, education, and key experiences.

1. Identify what professional development tools and procedures are present in your organization or the fire department within your community
2. How do these tools and processes compare to those described in the course materials?
3. What changes would you recommend to the current tools and processes to build the fire service leaders of the future

Your response should be 200-300 words in length, include information from the course readings, as well as information relating to your organization. Any referenced materials should be cited utilizing APA 6th ed. Standards found at http://www.apastyle.org/learn/tutorials/basics-tutorial.aspx
